COVID-19 Updates

Residence Visas with expiration dates of 1 March 2020 and later will automatically be extended and will remain valid through 31 December 2020. It is important to mention that all residence visa holders who are required to travel internationally will still need to extend their physical visa stamp in order to be able to depart and return to the UAE.

Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC) has implemented a Tawajudi service for UAE residence visa holders currently abroad through which they can register and receive updates about options for their return to the UAE. The approval from MOFAIC is required for booking and boarding repatriation flights to the UAE. In a joint statement, MOFAIC and the Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship announced that foreign nationals holding UAE residence visas will be able to return to the UAE starting 1 June 2020.
