Involvement

Making an impact by giving back.

Commitment to Pro Bono

A good percentage of T&S’s pro bono efforts come through our direct representation of unaccompanied minors facing deportation. Many of these unaccompanied minors fled horrific country conditions, have been abandoned, have suffered physical and emotional abuse at home, and faced daily threats from gang members that the local police forces could not or simply would not control.

Lawyers at T&S have directly represented unaccompanied minors facing deportation and have used a variety of legal tactics and defenses including obtaining guardianships in State Court (Superior/Probate Court) and seeking immigration relief such as asylum and special immigrant juvenile status (SIJS).

Through our pro bono efforts, T&S has impacted and made a positive difference in the lives of several unaccompanied minors.

Community Involvement

We volunteer and partner with local non-profits, legal service organizations and businesses to help support underserved areas and make a positive impact in the lives of the members of our communities. We strongly believe in contributing to the common good of the entire community.

For example, T&S has works with KIND (Kids in Need of Defense) to represent unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children in deportation proceedings, partners with women’s shelters to provide legal assistance to victims of spousal/domestic abuse, and provides free legal consultations and trainings to local community/immigration groups. T&S also serves as a board member of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) and partners with the ILRC on immigration advocacy and provide training to social service agencies. Our team also volunteers with local food banks and social service providers.
