Germany has revised the salary requirements for EU Blue Card applications, with new thresholds taking effect from 1 January 2026: 

• Regular EU Blue Card: minimum annual salary of €50,700 

• Shortage Occupations (“Small Blue Card”) – including IT, engineering, natural sciences, and healthcare: minimum annual salary of €45,934.20 

Employers should review the salaries of the foreign professionals they sponsor and make any necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with the new thresholds.
