- Entry Restrictions
International travel to France is currently restricted, except for the following passengers:
- Nationals of France and their spouses and children;
- Nationals of European Union Member States, Andorra, Vatican (Holy See), Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, whose residence is in France or who are transiting France to reach their country of nationality or residence (they may be accompanied by their spouses and children);
- Nationals of Lebanon who are residing in Lebanon;
- Travelers holding a valid residence permits or long-stay visas issued by France or another EU Member State whose main residence is in France or who are transiting France to reach their country of residence;
- Travelers coming from Member States of the European Union, Andorra, Australia, Vatican (Holy See), Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Rwanda, San Marino, South Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, and Thailand;
- Passengers in transit who will remain in the international zone of an airport in France for a duration of less than 24 hours;
- Foreign health professionals helping to fight COVID-19 or recruited as a trainee for this purpose;
- Crew members or personnel operating passenger or cargo flights;
- Travelers engaged in the international transport of goods;
- Crew members or personnel operating a merchant or fishing vessel;
- International students possessing a long-stay visa or short-stay visa for study or placements or coming for less than 90 days from a country exempted from VCS requirements or minor children enrolled in school, and with confirmed accommodation in France;
- Professors or researchers employed or invited by academic institutions or research laboratories in France and travelling for study and teaching purposes;
- Travelers holding long-stay visas under the “Talent Passport” or “ICT posted worker” categories (they can be accompanied by their spouses and children);
- Travelers coming to France to receive treatment in a public or private hospital.
Passengers arriving in France from the following countries are required to present a medical certificate showing a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to their departure to France:
- Algeria, Bahrain, China (PRC), Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Morocco, Panama, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates or Zimbabwe.
The following COVID-19 tests are accepted by the authorities in France (though a RT-PCR test is strongly recommended):
- Antigen tests, LAMP tests, Molecular Assay or tests, Nucleic-acid Amplification tests (NAAT), PCR, RT-PCR, SARS-CoV2 Assay, SARS-CoV2 DDPCR, SARS-CoV2 RNA and SARS-CoV2 RT-PCR.
Children below the age of 11 are exempt from having to present a medical certificate prior to boarding and upon arrival.
Passengers coming from other countries and who do not require a medical certificate are still highly recommended to complete a COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to departure to avoid having to undergo a test upon arrival in France.
In addition to their travel documents and applicable visas, passengers entering or transiting France will also need to present the following documents:
- An International Travel Certificate for travel to metropolitan France (except for passengers coming from European Union Member States, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican (Holy See), Australia, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Rwanda or Thailand)
- A sworn declaration confirming the absence of COVID-19 symptoms.
2. Quarantine/Self-Isolation Requirements
Passengers who arrive in France without a medical certificate showing a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to departure are required to undertake a COVID-19 test upon arrival in France. While awaiting the results of their COVID-19 test, passengers may be placed in a 14-day quarantine either at their home or at a suitable alternative accommodation. If the test results come back negative, passengers may end their quarantine. If the airport test comes back positive, passengers will be required to self-isolate.
