COVID-19 Updates

Due to the continued closures of the registration offices, the Minister of Justice announced that all immigration permissions scheduled to expire between 20 May 2020 to 20 July 2020 are automatically renewed for a period of 2 months. The renewal of permission is on the same basis as the existing permission and the same conditions attach.

Immigration permissions that were automatically renewed under the previous notice dated 20 March 2020 and which therefore have a new expiry date between 20 May and 20 July are automatically renewed by this notice for a further 2 months. Additionally, between now and 20 July 2020, anyone present in Ireland awaiting their first registration and who has a current, valid permission to remain, but does not have a current permission letter can electronically apply to the Registration Office to request a letter confirming their permission to remain in Ireland. Applications may be submitted electronically to the Registration Office, Burgh Quay, Dublin (bqregofficeapplications@justice.ie).
