Canada: British Columbia PNP Allocation Reduced for 2025

Recently, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) announced that the Canadian federal government has confirmed BC’s allocation of Provincial Nominees for 2025 is 4,000 nominations. This is a 50% reduction from 2024, which was at 8,000 nominees.

British Columbia is the first province to announce its reduction. We predict that other provinces will have similar reductions to their PNP programs, which should be announced in the coming days.

The reduction will affect the number of Invitations to Apply (ITA) issued by the BC PNP program. The significant decrease in BC PNP nominations is a direct result of the reduction in immigration targets by the Canadian government, which will be achieved by reducing the overall provincial nominee allocation for PNP programs in 2025 from 117,000 to 55,000 invitations.

We will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as they become available. Please contact the T&S Americas team at [email protected] for more information.
