Brazilian Visa Requirement Reinstated for U.S., Canada and Australia

Taking effect on April 10, 2025, the Brazilian government has decided to reinstate the visitor visa requirement for citizens of the following countries: the United States, Canada and Australia.

Brazilian visas will be required for tourism, business, transit, artistic, or sports-related activities, for stays of up to 90 days.  The above countries will be able to apply for the Brazil e-Visa online or a regular visitor visa through a consulate abroad.

Currently, there is no indication of reversal or exception to this requirement. From April 10, 2025, forward, compliance with the visa requirement is mandatory for citizens of the countries mentioned above to enter Brazil.
