Entry Permit Processing Resumes and COVID-19 Test Requirement Introduced

The authorities in the UAE have resumed the processing of new entry permit applications for most applicants currently residing outside the UAE. However, the processing of new entry permit applications are still suspended for citizens of the following countries:

  • Afghanistan
  • Egypt
  • India
  • Lebanon
  • Nigeria
  • Pakistan
  • Palestine
  • South Sudan

Effective immediately, a new COVID-19 PCR test requirement has been introduced travelers arriving in Dubai from the following countries:

  • Afghanistan
  • Bangladesh
  • Egypt
  • India
  • Iran
  • Pakistan
  • Philippines
  • Russia
  • Tanzania
  • USA (Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO), including passengers originating from California, Florida and Texas connecting to an Emirates flight to Dubai)

The negative COVID-19 PCR negative test certificate must be obtained within 96 hours prior to the departure to Dubai. It is no longer possible for travelers arriving from the above-mentioned countries to be given the option of completing a PCR test at the airport in Dubai. The negative test certificate must be obtained prior to the departure.
