USCIS Announces Delay in Green Card Production

USCIS today announced that due to planned upgrades in green card production equipment, a delay of up to 8 (eight) weeks is expected for delivery of green cards.  USCIS district offices will issue I-551 passport stamps to individuals who are approved for green cards during this period.  Individuals whose I-485 applications are approved during this period may make an InfoPass appointment with the nearest USCIS district office to receive the I-551 passport stamp as temporary proof of lawful permanent resident status.  The USCIS announcement is available online at
