E-Verify Rule for Federal Contractors Delayed to May 21, 2009

January 28, 2009

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced that "the federal government agreed to a request by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to postpone the implementation of E-Verify [for federal contractors] until May 21, 2009 at the earliest. This is the second time the federal government has agreed to delay implementation of the rule."  According to the rule's sponsoring agencies, the government is delaying implementation of the E-Verify rule for contractors "in order to permit the new Administration an adequate opportunity to review the rule."  To view the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announcement, click here.
