DHS Announces Planned Changes to Rules to Support High Skilled Businesses and Workers

The Department of Homeland Security today announced new policies supporting U.S. "high-skilled" businesses and workers.  The new DHS director Jeh Charles Johnson directed DHS to develop regulatory amendments that would help ease green card backlogs and offer somewhat expanded options for visas for employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant workers.  These expanded options will require regulatory amendments that may take months to develop and implement; details remain sketchy at this point, but should emerge as the various regulatory changes are spelled out.  A copy of the DHS announcement is available online at
